The show celebrated this unique sound. That captivates a fusion that marries hip-hop production methods with timeless, vintage aesthetics, all wrapped in smooth, dreamy R&B instrumentation. 🎺🎛️

GLUH WORLD - Screening of CONNECT (30 September 2024)

I am incredibly grateful for the chance to kick off the vibrant atmosphere at the screening of CONNECT, hosted by GLUH WORLD Magazine last week.

This event was a significant milestone for me, as it marked my first experience in a public setting, and I owe a huge thank you to GLUH for making it so unforgettable!

The evening revolved around the screening of a captivating filmed interview series that featured engaging discussions and music with innovative creative pioneers.

The panel delved into the thought-provoking theme of "What does social connection mean to you?" and engaged the audience in a lively Q&A session, exploring how we connect or disconnect in today's complex world.

I definitely look forward to attending this event again!

My name is Chloe Calvin

My passion for music runs deep, I often share my favourite songs and albums from artists such as Prince, Janet Jackson and Erykah Badu on social media and podcasts.

I discovered this song a couple of months ago during the festive season and it’s really been a mainstay in my repeat playlist as I journey through the beginning of this year. Now, I feel ready to share it with you.

The groove is mesmerising, you could easily lose yourself in the zone while feeling the urge to get up and bop a lil.

It features a soulful, chopped-up vocal loop from the Esther Phillips 1972 record ‘A Beautiful Friendship’, but what makes it dancefloor-ready is the drum and energy sample from B.T. Express’ ‘Do It (‘Til You’re Satisfied)’ [1974].

Produced by 9th Wonder, released on the ZION VII project in 2022.

Really hurt and heartbroken to hear of the loss of Michael Eugene Archer, a true maestro better known as D’Angelo.

His essence, music, and impact will continue to echo through generations to come. As he transcended the role of an artist and reshaped the landscape of R&B and Soul.

The artistry was raw, genuine, and transformative that left an unforgettable impression. 🕊️🩵
